Too much running around this week.

Friday, October 28, 2016

I'm really worn out this week. I have had to go into town every day. Now I agree that on Wed. my running was all about me. I went out to lunch with some ladies from my quilt guild. But every other day has involved making sure mom and dad have what they want or taking one of them somewhere. Today was tough. Mom asked me 3 times on the way to the appt. where we had to go today. She kept forgetting. The oral surgeon says mom is on the edge of him saying he won't do any surgery on her. He will do it if she wants him too. We did make an appt. for about a month from now. But she is really more of the mind that if it's not bothering her she doesn't want to go thru getting it pulled. I'm on her side. Any kind of surgery is hard when your 87 years old.

I finished the bandanna quilt today. I'll take it's picture tomorrow when it's day light out. It was dark when I finally put the last stitches in it. It is by no means a perfect quilt but would make a great one to keep somewhere you would use it a lot. Like maybe on the couch in the TV room where you like to cuddle.

Tomorrow will be a rather mixed bag. I will get my hair done in the morning. it is my weekly gift to me. Then if my brother is coming down to talk to mom and dad about giving us permission legally to take over all their finances I'll have to go to town. He's talking to an attorney about how to do this. Neither one of them is able to do things like pay bills and stuff anymore. But if I don't have to do that I'll go to Block of the Month meeting tomorrow and come home and just be home for the weekend. If I do end up in town I'll have to go to the Block of the Month meeting on Sat. morning.

Your folks can designate who they want to take over their finances with a Financial Power of Attorney - my in-laws had one in place before my FIL died, making it MUCH easier for DH to take care of his mom, who had Alzheimer's.

Cuddling on the couch under a bandanna quilt sounds AWESOME - it's a little chilly here today!

Thoughts and feelings are with you. NEVER forget your personal time. It feels close to impossible sometimes. Best to you
