Happy Thanksgiving!

Tuesday, November 22, 2016

Hiya, Sparkfriends! Long time no see! How is everyone doing?

Last I wrote, we were preparing to move to Colorado. Well, we're here! It was an interesting adventure getting our house packed up, cleaned up for sale, then traveling for 4 days cross country with the cat as my co-pilot. We all made it safely, but are still in process of getting settled. There are still boxes everywhere, but it's getting better. At least I have a somewhat clean spot on my desk.

Somehow I managed to lose a total of 5 pounds during the move. I wish I had some great words of wisdom to give you, but honestly no one is as surprised as me! We didn't eat the greatest during the road trip. We had Egg McMuffins and Starbucks for breakfast. We skipped lunch some days so we could keep time while driving. Dinner was some diner joint. I did mostly try to avoid the carbs, but as mentioned, we had Egg McMuffins, so I had some bread. I can't say I was an exemplar of low-carb road tripping, but somehow it worked out!

Obviously, this is holiday week so I won't be following my diet to a "T" here either. There will be stuffing and pumpkin pie on Thursday "feast" day. I plan to take a 16/8 intermittent fast day on Friday to balance things out a bit. But mostly, this will be a time to celebrate.

This year I am thankful to be back in my home town, celebrating with my closest family and friends.

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday! Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm so glad to hear that you had a safe trip and are now home! That's wonderful news. I'm sure all the activity burned a lot more calories than you realized - so congratulations on the weight loss as well.

I am hosting Thanksgiving dinner for my children this year and am pretty excited to be cooking for a change. Cooking has never been my best thing, and it typically isn't enjoyable to me; but I love making the Turkey, Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy - and my sons always want jello with fruit. I guess it's a labor of love - something I can still do for my children.

Have a great holiday week and good luck with all your unpacking. I've been in this house 34 years but I remember how much work it was when I moved in!
