Seaview Trail to Get Blood Pumping

Saturday, November 26, 2016

The day started today a bit differently as I seek to mix things up a bit with my routine. We took my favorite hike through the California chaparral on a beyond scenic wilderness trail that mixes elevations to soar over the coastline with an expansive view of Dana Point to the south and Newport Beach and Long Beach to the north. There were clouds so sun rays created beautiful lighter patches on the ocean. The waves lapping the shore are one of my favorite things...such a beautiful rocky coastline along Laguna and Aliso Creek beaches. Every time I take this hike I chide myself for not doing it more often. Truly paradise.

Now it's time to get out the Christmas decorations and transform the house into a winter wonderland. Its is the most wonderful time of the year, no doubt.

The house is beginning to smell incredible as my whole roasted pumpkin is beginning to waft through the air. Since the Ritz Carlton didn't offer roasted turkey at their extensive buffet (impossible to imagine - but true. How could they offer venison and smoked salmon and sushi options galore, but only smoked turkey?) I am also about to pop a turkey breast into the oven when the pumpkin is ready to come out. Puréed pumpkin is the best for so many recipes - and one just can't call Thanksgiving complete without roasted turkey now, can one?

Okay...hike is complete, decorating about to begin and roasted turkey and pumpkin progressing well. And, did I mention the double rainbow spied as I left our neighborhood heading out to grab some last minute fresh cranberry sauce at Trader Joe's?

Not a bad day I'd say! Rainbows are pretty rare in Laguna Niguel! I had to do a U turn and get out of my car to take a photo.
