My goal wasn't met, but that is not going to deter me.

Monday, November 28, 2016

I did have one evening of hunger and ate extra ham. I also have problems with bowel motility at times, so that could be the problem.

I don't worry about such things or give up because of them. I ate a meal late last night because I was busy around the house and had not eaten. Hubby is going to Colorado today to visit a couple he knew while he was in the Air Force. They witnessed to us of our need of the Saviour before we married and I will always be grateful to God for them.

He plans to head home on Wednesday, but said he would like to stop in Kansas and visit his brother. His brother was in the hospital recently with diabetic foot ulcers and told my husband he has congestive heart failure. I think this is a good thing for my husband to do. His brother has been hostile to other family members at times over the years, telling one brother how fat he was a family reunion. Now he is in ill health and not near any of his family.

So instead of waiting to get news of his passing, I am glad my husband will stop there and visit with him. I am sure many families have relatives that are like this, but put that aside, make peace if you can, nobody wants to die alone.

So good to know that the ol' man is well enough to make these trips on his way back home. I think he'll be glad he made the effort to see his brother; who knows? maybe he'll witness to him and his brother can be saved before his time comes.

Hope you're still enjoying your "me" time~ keep up your great success in your eating. I'm really proud of you, gal~ emoticon emoticon BB~

My husband died of congestive heart failure. I am glad your DH is visiting his brother for both of their sake. The guilt and regret would be immense if he did not. I've tried to live without regrets so I can die in peace when it happens.

Happy to hear that DH will stop to see his brother. I remember a great aunt who always said, Visit me while I am alive, I won't know it when I am gone. I always treasured her and sent her flowers for Christmas, mother's day and her birthday since she never had children. I took her message to heart to stay close to friends and family while they are alive and do what I could in the here and now.

Keep going towards your goal and don't lose hope-you will get there! Slow and steady will win the race.

Too late to visit them when they are gone. I think it is wonderful to visit his brother. The brother has chosen to estrange everybody else, he might want to be nice to whomever he has left. Your husband sounds wonderful .

No one wants to die alone, but your husban'ds visit with his brother will do him good as well as his brother! I'm glad you are not giving up! This was a weekend of eating for most of us! Hopefully you have set your sights on next Monday! If you are still going, have an excellent dinner and visit with your son tonight!
