OK, the union is more like getting my mind and body on the same path.
My weigh in this week was down- I am happy about that! I joined the BLC 32 15 week challenge and am proud to say I lost 20#'s. I am celebrating that because I have never experienced that much in such a short amount of time. This makes the total lost since I joined Sparks at 26# so far. If I hadn't lost the same lbs twice I would be a lot further ahead!
So I rewarded myself with a Fitbit Flex, which is swim proof. I am excited about that- some new techie thing to learn how to operate!
My eating plan is working for me. Keeping my calories between 1300 and 1500 calories, with 50% veggies, 25% protein and 25% starch. My blood sugars are now ranging in the 120's. Just one day at a time. The big lesson learned is adding pizza to my kryptonite. Yikes!
Did I do it perfectly, of course not! The weekend challenges were hit and miss, but the important thing is that I did participate, even if imperfectly.
Some of my physical challenges were a factor in the challenges. No excuses, I found alternate exercises I could do. The post surgery results are in, and I am almost normal- well normal for me
My Ringo boy needs at least 4 walks a day, the mid morning walk is a long one and the mid afternoon walk is even longer. I swear his is going to sprain his nose with all that sniffing!!
Now that he has mastered the crate, I am going to start taking him to the dog park. I am rather ambivalent about that, because the dog parks can be breeding grounds for all sorts of germs, but he needs to run off leash, and catch balls, etc. We will try one this week, and see how it goes. He is such a sweet boy, eager to please and very loving!
The weather here is wet and chilly- I guess winter comes even to sunny areas like Tucson! I feel it in every joint and muscle. Fibromyalgia is my human barometer. Gentle exercise, non impact, does help.
I found a hair dresser, Santiago. Don't let the name food you, he is Irish- LOL We are working on a two phase plan. Last week he even out my hair color, and next week he is doing a body wave and a cut. I have been so disappointed in my pictures. My hair if fine and flat. Santiago did his magic trying to get some lift to my hair and finally agreed with my- my hair is flat. LOL. Will post pictures next week after he does his magic.
I am going to visit a make up artist and learn the finer points of dealing with the pouches under my eyes. They are the one thing that really bug me, but I am not ready to have any more surgeries. It is more than a vanity thing. It truly affects how I feel about myself. If I can learn the slight of hand and enhance my features that is a good thing.
The rest of this month, I am fine tuning my routines. Nothing to exciting. Just making the bed, keeping the kitchen tidy, dusting and blessing my home. Mr Budget says I need to wait a bit before acquiring living room lamps and a console table for the "entry". It really was a choice between feathering my nest or adopting Ringo. LOL A new routine is daily vacuuming- Ringo does seem to be the reason for that- I gladly do it.
I am going to Mesa next week to see my niece and her baby girl who will be one in January. Aliyah is walking and at last report had de-decorated the bottom of the Christmas tree. I am so jazzed about seeing them, it has been a couple of months.
Tis the season to set the intentions for 2017. I am doing a vision board for that- it is still in its infancy, but includes paying off my Dr. bills, setting aside money for getting a small pull trailer, so I can travel a bit, feathering my nest, losing more weight, establishing my website and gathering a revenue stream, taking more classes, and writing. I am sure as I ponder the year, more things will come to mind. I want to be strong physically, emotionally and spiritually. And I am going to participate in activities that keep me engaged in those goals.
Merry Christmas to all and enjoy the holidays!
