Yeserday "if" became "when" and "when" became "ASAP

Many of you know I have a VP shunt - it's a comes to correct one of my many "gifts" from Meningitis that dates back to 1976. While I have had 5 brain surgeries (one device failed and is replaced etc) I have been fortunate with this one. In fact the shunt still works fine but another gift if you will thinning skin from both natural aging and drugs has made it necessary for a revision/replacement. So in 3 weeks it will be brain surgery #6.

I'm a bit overwhelmed at the moment with things that need to be done. Among them is finding "Sunny care" for post op. We are only a year into a X-C location and everyone we know is working - as is my husband. Since I am counting (ha) on only good results I am hoping not to need a nurse. But in the middle of the day I will need someone to check in on me - make sure I have not fallen (head surgery can disorient you) and that I get out and get exercise as it helps healing and endorphins released help with pain management. A much preferred option to drugs and alcohol.

And so one more gift surfaces with a "no return" sticker on it. Wish me luck with this challenge as it is far more difficult than the little bit of weight I want to lose here.

Best to all of you.

It is quite a testimony that you can still be so positive after so many challenges. A strong resilient spirit is the best aid to healing. I will pray for a good outcome and speedy recovery. If you can't get out for a while listen to or watch comedies. Laughter will also raise the endorphin levels and reduce pain and speed healing. Like the Bible says in the book of Proverbs, "A merry heart is good medicine"
