Progress report

This is an update of the blog I posted on the first of the year. I mentioned three resolutions for 2017.
The first was to be a better spark friend, which I'm working on. I tend to be somewhat introverted, shy and socially awkward. I'm that person at the party who never knows what to say. I so envy those of you who can chatter about anything and everything, and those who always know the exact right thing to say under any circumstances. In spite of my inability to show it, I really do like people, so I guess I just need more practice.
The second resolution was to quit drinking diet soda. Unfortunately, progress in that area is minimal. I'm drinking a lot more water, but can't seem to shake the diet coke. I think I'm drinking less, but I wouldn't swear to it.
The third resolution was to join the local gym (and make use of it). Success! I am now a card-carrying member. I've been to a few aerobics classes, and I'm riding the exercise cycle fairly frequently. I'm actually ahead of schedule on that one. I planned to start with five minute sessions, adding five more minutes every two weeks, but after three weeks I'm already up to 20 minutes. I'll be ready for that hour-long spin class before you know it!
Another promise I made myself was to weigh only on the first of every month, so I can't really report any progress in that area yet, but I've been walking, dancing, and working out with weights in addition to the aerobics and cycling, so fingers crossed!
The best part is, I'm really enjoying myself! I feel like I'm back in the zone.
