Why am I so hungry

I walked a half marathon this past weekend and then went to the gym this morning and I'm just really really hungry. No good reason, just hungry. Ugh.

    So, just as a follow up! -

    I've been eating really healthy, meeting all of my marks, etc. I ate a WHOLE LOT of pasta on Saturday to fuel the run and a WHOLE LOT of proteins and such after the run.

    This was my 14th Half, 2nd this year! Last week after my half, I was NOT HUNGRY AT ALL, but today? SOOOO hungry.

    I've been hydrating all week, and event using nuun once a day so I'm not just using water.

    Maybe today I have a "cheat day" and eat something more than I usually do.

    Wow! Good for you on your run!!! Maybe you need to allow yourself to have some of the activity calories if you don't already. I would imagine that a half marathon would leave you with a big deficit.

    Eating food helps--make sure you are eating healthy foods. Your muscles need more nutrition when you use them. Also, it takes calories to burn calories!

    AND--stay hydrated. The body can put out the same signal for hunger as thirst, before you feel thirsty. I have read that when you feel thirsty, you are actually at the point of dehydration. So it's important to stay hydrated.

    Are you getting enough nutrition for the energy you are expending? You might be running a deficit. Congratulations on your half marathon!

    Are you getting enough to eat through out the day? Or eating a snack after your workout?
