Getting Closer

Stitches were pulled today - not fun. When the doctor grapped the pointed tweezers I looked away. He was looking for loose scab. I was always told "don't pick your scab!" Why does the doctor get away with it?

Another cast, another 3 weeks sitting on my butt. I watch what I eat and count calories. I hope it helps because I can't weigh myself. My pants don't feel any looser either.

It will be 4 weeks before I get to wear normal shoes and then I can go on the scale. Wish me luck.

    JMFLAHIFF thank you for your kind remarks. My foot problems were caused by arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. I had 3 foot surgeries in a time span of 10 months and each time I was not allowed to put any weight on the operated foot for several months. I basically spent almost a year sitting on my butt or laying in bed. The few short trips I did with my knee scooter were limited because my hands and arms reacted when I had to put too much pressure on the handle due to uneven ground. That was the same reason I couldn't do crutches. The first 3 months my weight went up like crazy and that's when I went back to counting calories again. I would be lost without my kitchen scale that I have set to grams. I am still amazed that I can walk without pain now. I still have a lot of nerve damage in my feet. The right foot's movement is limited due to all the fusions. The left foot ended up with one stiff toe (which drives me nuts) and the big toe was the only fused one. The left foot gives me cramps when I bend it too much. I notice that mor when we do exercises in water aroebics where you point your toes down.No ballet dancing for me. Ha ha The nerve damage causes me to walk like a drunk at times. It's really bad when I do turns without concentrating on them (correct foot placement) other than that I am happy to be alive and "kicking". :)

    Had no idea what you are doing for your health despite issues. I know this was a year ago, but hope things are much, much better. Also noticed comments recently by two others on the German page! Hoping this is a sign of a livelier page. Pulling for you Bienke!
