Brain Surgery Success (Like the Scarecrow they found one to put in)
Saturday, February 11, 2017
Kidding aside Wednesday's surgery was pretty uneventful and thanks to a few innovations in microsurgery I was able to come home the next day - in hindsight that probably was a day early for St. Thomas (hubby and caregiver) but not nearly soon enough for me. Hospitals are not a place to get better in.
Brain doing well - me could be doing better trying to stay off heavy duty meds (so nice but soooo addicting, even worse than my buddies B&J - especially the Pfish Phood. In other words it hurts constantly but at least I am no longer afraid of the device breaking through the skin. Some days it's the little things - ok, this isn't so little but the worst is over. Moving parts still all move. No drool or facial paralysis - a sometimes complication No memory loss. Speech clear (St. Thomas says maybe that's not so good), Kinda get the idea.
And at least on Day 4 of this adventure no appetite. None. I know I have to eat but truly I have no interest. Please remind me that I said this in 2 weeks ... I intend to ride this wave with super healthy eating and perhaps by the time I want to eat again those foods will be all I want. That would be real positive.
So thanks to all of you for good wishes and prayers. They do work.
