Sugar, can't live with it, can't live without it...ugh. I can't imagine a day without a sugary "treat". I can smell it in my sleep and hear it calling my name. Hear it,,,,there it is calling H....l...y....Yep sugar got's my name.
Seriously though, it is most definitely my worst obsession. I love all kinds of candy, chocolate and there is not a bake good I haven't devoured. If I could marry sugar I would propose right now. I've started the 21 Sugar Challenge in hope I began to get a handle on it.
Funny... French woman don't give up anything. They eat their chocolate and bake goods....but in small portions and not everyday. Years ago (32) I saw 3 French women share one piece of cheese cake. They cut it long so it looked like each had a thin full piece. And, I watched as they sat chatting, making that skinny slice of cheese cake last for about 40 minutes. I have seen American's share dessert. But, never with such contentment...while making the cheese cake secondary to the meal. Their experience was the joy of being together. Sharing the meal with friends. The cheese became the condiment...not the main course. The 3 of them were there for the joy of companionship...not a sugar fix. I ca still see these beautiful thin woman...not needing to abuse them selves with sugar and filling up on human companionship.
