My crazy life

Sunday, March 05, 2017

Why can't I figure out how to do life completely without gain weight? I get crazy because I don't have enough money to pay me bills. My husband has retired and he doesn't make much. So it drives me crazy, so I eat and eat and eat. And I know what that means I eat everything except for good food. Gain weight which is a cycle of madness for me. I know what I need to do, but I can't seem to shake this cycle. Any advice would be very much welcome. emoticon emoticon . P.S. this is the best place for me to be at.

Most seniors any more can't afford to completely retire as things are too expensive. Could your husband take a part time job? I think you can work some on social security without being penalized. It would take some of the pressure off of you and make it easier to concentrate on eating healthy and losing weight.

I'm with you, sister. My husband just retired in January and our plan was to live on my salary - I'm still working- until he officially hits 66. Fortunately, before he retired I managed to sock away a little money but taking money out of savings to make ends meet every week has got me feeling short of breath. I do a lot of praying and a lot of walking. I know it's just because I'm not used to being broke again that makes me so tense, but he has a lot of fix-it skills and is looking for some part time work. Hopefully that will happen soon. I was going to retire in September but decided to keep working till my car is paid off. If he can do enough part time work, I hope that will happen in March of next year. Anyway, didn't mean to run on, but I did want to tell you that walking can be a lifesaver. I usually get up at the insane time of 4:15 in the morning and only walk up and down our block. By the time I get in almost 2 miles I'm a lot calmer. You can solve a lot of life's problems - or get them in perspective - by moving while you're mulling it all over. I have been able to stick with my eating plan so I've been losing and noticing small things like how much easier it is to walk and some muscle definition where there was none before is a victory to me. I feel like I'm accomplishing at least one thing positive. I wish the best for you. Brooklynblondie has the right idea. Start with a small goal so you get feel that success, then pick something else.

Start with walking - 10 min everyday then increase until I've reached your goal. Instead of that snack, go for a walk

Breath! You can do anything once you decide to do it. It is a viscous cycle but you can break it! You are a strong woman and you deserve it!

Well, if you keep doing what you've been doing, you'll keep getting what you've been getting. Start afresh. Start anew. Do everything differently for one month & see if it doesn't change things for the better.

Start with a small attainable goal. Once you have successfully completed that goal move on to another. I think at times we all get stressed and forget to breath.
