Mulch much? Yup.

We have an annual Pi(e) party on (you guessed it!) Pi day so we like to put on our best "face" for the party. Each year, we invite some new folks and anyone that has been before is always welcome to return. Right now, we're expecting 15 or so folks plus the 2 of us. Who knows who else will show up? I'm making a British style Beef and Mushroom pie and am still debating the second pie. I make 2 even though there's always more than enough. Any suggestions?
So... back to the mulch. The Man had dug out three St. John's Wort plants. If anyone sells you a plant and recommends it stay in a pot, listen to them. St. John's Wort puts out runners and once entrenched, it's a bugger to get out. I haven't figured out quite what to put in it's place because it's mostly shady. Love Heuchera Coral Bells, but they are pricey! I may have to bite the bullet on this one. See what I mean?
Starting to look like an onion/garlic/leek/chive bed. I need texture and color!
This side has gorgeous peonies, Costmary, Lamium and Parcel, which is a cross between Parsley and Celery. Another partly shaded bed.
Daffs are fading, but tulips, Iris and three varieties of Bluebells are coming in. Bluebells are the Man's favorite. He manages this bed.
My herb spiral still needs work... sigh. I grow out lettuce and kale for the chickens here, but will replace with African Blue Basil in April. Going to dig up the rest of the weeds around it and regravel the path.
One more in the front to do, but I was chased in by the cold. The Man helped me finish up the butterfly & hummingbird bed, but I forgot to shoot a pic. Maybe when it warms up again!
