Ticks.

Sunday, April 23, 2017

My husband found a tick crawling on him a couple of weeks ago and I found one today on a blanket after Bayau climbed up in my lap. I decided to write about ticks since our last dog was said to have had Lyme disease and had to be put down. She was a rescued rottweiler and we only had her 5 years and one day before we had to put her down. She bled out her nostrils.

Today I medicated the dog and cat for fleas and ticks and the dog for heartworms. Please check yourself if you have been outdoors since we have never have had ticks like this in April.

Flea collars contain poison and should not be left on your dog.

Good thing you saw the tick and then took measures to be sure the dog and cat were tick free! Sassy is constantly touched by me, full body massages, so I am always "looking" for ticks with my hands! I did find one a long time ago!

We had a friend find a tick that was deeply imbedded in her back down here in FL about 2 weeks ago. I have never had a problem with them here on us or our fur baby but will keep a close eye out now. She gets her medication monthly. Now fleas-that is an entirely different story. Had a bad time with them a few years ago but only once.

Glad you found these and got rid of them immediately.

Yuck! I am glad you found it. Our dogs get the Lyme disease shot and I put frontline on them. Hubby got the immunization for Lyme disease when it was out.

Fleas are bad. Has seen a tick yet. My dogs get a pill for fleas. With their long hair it is hard to see them. They will get a summer cut soon. Makes it so much better for them.
