Doctor's visit, blah day.

Tuesday, April 25, 2017

Blood glucose 140 after dinner
Day 19 of exercise this year
Walked 21 minutes 100 calories burned

Weight at the doctor's 245 lbs. He doesn't take anything off for clothing or shoes. He went all the way back to my kidney stone visit at the hospital in January, and put me on a pill for uric acid.

It makes me want to cuss; another visit, another pill. He had labs done after that trip to the hospital and was going to repeat them all. I told him he had done them. At least I don't have to go back to see him again until July and have to have labs done before my visit.

I had cramping while I was there and did not feel well this morning, my good friend IBS paid a visit. I came home, ate lunch, and napped.

It was misting this evening during our walk. It has been in the 50's and will jump to the 80's soon.

Update on my friend with the heart problems. They were at church on Sunday and she is back to doing stairs. I suppose you reach the point where you know what you're facing and want to have some quality of life where you can do as you want.

Thant is one reason I hate going to the doctor. Mine does not listen to me. Frustrating. I only use him when I KNOW what the problem is and I can refute him if needed. But it is not just him. So many doctors just issue pills instead of trying holistic things first that do work. Is it the money??

Happy to hear that your friend was back at church. Even though the doctor does not take off a couple of pounds at weigh in - I do. I know deep down that our clothes weigh a couple of pounds. Plus, you may have eaten something or even had coffee before the appointment.

Did your doctor apologize for his "mistake" of trying to order duplicate tests? Seems very strange for such a "mistake", if he had the facts straight on your records.

Did he tell you why he wanted to order a pill for uric acid or tell you other possible option(s) to such a pill?

I make it my policy to wear the same clothes each time I go to my doctor's office. That way, I am assured of getting an accurate weight each time. I simply slip out of my shoes at the time of weighing. I, also, weigh at home before going, just to be sure that our home emoticon reports the same weight as the doctor's emoticon - so far they have matched up each time.

Until you told me that your previous doctor dropped the weight by two pounds for clothing & shoes, I had never heard of such a way of recording one's weight. I believe that most doctor's do not have such a policy.

I continue to lift Elizbeth's needs in prayer as Holy Spirit bids me. I believe that she is correct in doing the things she wants to do. She will either be healed in this lifetime or in eternity. She really is in a win-win situation, as are all those of us who are blessed to be children of the King - no matter what circumstances come into our lives. Whichever way He choose to work in Elizbeth's life will be for His glory, so we can rejoice in that fact.

I have been looking for recipes to use black beans emoticon & have found some really tasty ones. emoticon I am looking forward to trying a couple over the next week or so. I keep trying to use up what we have on hand before making more dishes, don't you know?

I have been getting more exercise minutes in (a good thing) & I continue to struggle with my urge to nibble when not even physically hungry. Weird! The only thing I can contribute that to is emotional eating (which is never the right choice to bend to) due to the stress of waiting to see what the court decides in regard to the adoption of our two foster Grandblessings. Plus, I am dealing with the stress of trying to be all I need to be, while coming up along side my girlhood friend, who has been told by the eye-doctor that there is nothing he can do to improve her eyesight in her "good" eye. She has been blind in one eye for years now & recently lost her very limited vision in the other. She is diabetic & would not go to a doctor for years & years. I felt so helpless as I tried to encourage her to do so to no avail. She was/is as tenacious as they come. Now she is paying a high price for that refusal & I really do not know how to help; other than cover her with prayer as the good Lord walks her through each day.

To be quite frank - I am dealing with feelings of aggravation toward my friend for putting other things/people before her health. My frustration does nothing to better the situation (not that she knows how aggravated I feel). It only annoys me when all is said & done. I need to release the feelings, so I can redirect the energy they suck up & put that energy into something that will help the situation. Knowing what needs doing is often so different from being able to automatically do what one should. Your prayer covering of me in the situation would be so appreciated.

Our weather has turned a bit nippy - not bad; however, certainly not the norm for our area at this time of the year. We have snow in the weekend forecast. emoticon

Well, I need to scoot for now!

    God bless!

He is looking at your weight all the time with clothes on and then determining if you lost weight. I am going to be really frank: Are you cussing at yourself for not losing it? I am so scared for you since you have diabetes. I am losing my best friend and cousin to stage 4 cancer. They are taking every treatment they can get. I do not want to lose you too!!
