of birthday parties and then I can get back to normal....or rather discover what the new normal is. My birthday was Thursday, party Friday night, my brother's birthday yesterday, today a friend's party.
Despite overeating on calories and carbs, though I really didn't eat that much, I did not gain even one ounce.
Yesterday I went back to the full medicine. We stopped at Starbucks and I got a sandwich for breakfast on the way to clean the church. We put in about 4 hours of hard labor, sweating profusely in the sauna like temps, but I didn't even think about lunch. When we finished I bought a birthday cake for my brother and took it to his house. I didn't eat any, but they offered us dinner and we ate. Frozen mini quiche and frozen kolache. I would not have taken it but it was already 6pm and my roommate was starving. Despite eating so strangely, I only had 800 calories yesterday. And the scale this morning still hasn't budged an ounce. I thought sure that after a day of hard labor and under-eating, I would have dropped a pound.

That is majorly disappointing when that happens. I know people believe that sends the body into starvation mode...but darn it, I still want to see a loss when I've been so virtuous! I figure tomorrow is another day and it will eventually show up if I keep eating less calories than I'm burning. Sometimes it takes awhile to show up on the scale. Don't give up because the hardest days are when a break through is right around the corner. The pounds and inches WILL drop if you keep following your plan.

emoticon Be careful or your body will go into starvation mode and then it will be harder to lose weight because all that you take in your body will store as fat.

It does take time for calorie deficits to show in the number displayed on the scale.
    no instant gratification.
