Am at it again!

I have reached my heaviest weight and it makes me sad. But I won't dwell on it. Today is day 3 of my lifestyle change. Though my eating isn't completely healthy, tracking my food helps be more mindful of what I am putting in to my mouth. I am pushing myself to drink more water. And I have the goal to jump rope at least one time this week. I know these are the bare minimum of efforts, but I have to start somewhere. Today has been a good thus far. I can smile about that!

    Have you heard of the Art of Overcoming Laziness by the Japanese? It is called Kai-Zen and it involves doing something for ONE MINUTE. The man who developed Kai-zen said most people set a goal of say 30 minutes to exercise but they quit and don't do it. Why? Because it is too difficult, but anyone can do something for ONE MINUTE. He says to set a timer, and then start and when it goes off quit. The next day do it at the same time, and do one minute, etc. Each day, when you FEEL like you want to do more, then continue but quit as soon as you feel you want, since you have done the one minute. He says by doing just ONE MINUTE we can learn to overcome that feeling of not wanting to start.
    Jumping rope is difficult if you are at your heaviest weight, as it is hard on your knees and feet, but try the ONE MINUTE.

    I struggled eating healthy during the first couple weeks. I kept tracking and improved my food choices and exercises. I saw a colleague last week who commented on my weight loss. Slow and steady works for me. You can do it to.
