The Silver Lining in My Dark Cloud!!!!!

Tuesday, June 13, 2017

Over the past few years I have been through a lot and lost a lot of loved ones. I know there are people out there who have it worse than me but we are all on our own journey and handle things in our own way. Over the past 3 years I have lost my Niece, my Mother, my Sister who I created such a strong bond with when she was sick 4 years ago, my Nephew, the hardest was Tony, The Love of My Life and a couple of friends.
Last year this on top of my health issues things started to go south very fast. I had already been having medical problems but they were gradually getting worse over the past few years. Last Sept I noticed things were starting to spiral. I started having more problems with my Asthma and I developed a bad cough. I was falling into depression. I was having problems with my left wrist and arm. I went to Urgent Care and was told I have nerve damage in my left arm probably due to the Diabetes. Was given a brace and medication. Followed up with my primary care Dr who put me on antidepressants. My cough would not go away so back to the Urgent Care I went. They treated me for a upper respiratory infection. The cough persisted. Then it was starting to get hard to breathe. I went back to the Urgent Care and was Diagnosed with Asthma Exacerbated with Bronchitis. I was given a breathing treatment and put on 3 more meds including prednisone and told to follow up with my primary Dr. When I called for the appointment I was given one 10 weeks out. It started to get better and then Bang. I once again could not breathe. Back to the Urgent Care for another treatment and more Prednisone. Once again I was told to follow up with my primary Dr. I told the nurse I had an appointment......9 weeks out. He said that was ridiculous. I told him I agreed. He ask if he could make me an appointment in another office. I told him yes. The appointment was 4 days later. I went and seen the Dr who ordered a ton of labs. I went back on Monday to find out I have Hypothyroidism. Believe it or not that is the Silver Lining in my cloud. You see along with Hypothyroidism comes Depression, Fatigue (which had gotten the best of me most days. I babysit my granddaughter and that is all I could about handle each day), Weight gain along with it being really hard to lose weight. Dry skin, Abnormal cycles, muscle spasms and dry skin to name a few symptoms. I have several other medical conditions and had associated all these symptoms to these conditions. I had my follow up appointment with the Dr (mind you the other follow up with my original primary has still not come around. It is July 31st). She told me that all these symptoms are associated with the Hypothyroidism. I have started yet another medication but this one will hopefully eventually help get me off some of the other stuff I have been on and I will once again be able to lose weight. So you see there is a Silver Lining to my Cloud and a Rainbow at the end of my Storm.
I have decided since I now know what the problem is and learning to deal with it I want to start being accountable again for my life. A fresh start.
Remember..... Today Is A Good Day To Have A Good Day!!!!!
