My Tribute to Dad: On Father's Day...

Sunday, June 18, 2017

It has been almost 2 years since Dad was called home to be with the Lord, he passed on July 14, 2015 at Bethel Hospice in Inglewood, Ontario with his loving and caring wife, Carole (Edgar), by his side.

Today in Honor and Tribute to Dad who lived a long and happy life I reflect on the Legacy he has left to us all.

Hard to believe it is almost 2 years ago that I made my way back to Brampton, Ontario for Dad’s Celebration of Life Service August 2015 to bring my Eulogy along with others to share a life that was well lived by my beloved Dad.

Today in Honor and Tribute to Dad I reflect on the Legacy he has left to us all. I miss him dearly but know he is in a better place without pain and suffering.

In the meantime I have happy memories of happier days. What stands out is the love of Music & Sports he has passed down to his family. It is enjoyed by his wife, Carole, his children, Chris, Kathy and me, Judith and many of his Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren.

Both great-grandchildren, Nyla and Logan are taking piano lessons. Both enjoy swimming. And Nyla continues in Dance.

All through his childhood and teens into adulthood my Dad played all types of sports, plus he loved music and was an accomplished professional pianist and vocalist. During WWII, my Dad had his own band & performed for the troops. After the war, Dad attended the University of Toronto: Faculty of Medicine. He later joined his brother at William T. Mays Limited and worked in Montreal and later Toronto and became a top notch steel sales professional for over 40 years.

I thank God for my Dad, because of his love for Music and Medicine I too had a passion for both and followed in Dad’s footsteps with taking Voice and Piano and studied and worked as a Nurse and in Medical Lab.

Another wonderful memory I have is in 2012 I travelled back to Brampton for his 90th Birthday. It was such a happy and joyous celebration seeing all the family come together to celebrate the milestone birthday.

I thank God for all the times we had, I will miss the many times of the great and timely conversations we shared and of course Dad’s great sense of humor and his happy smile...

Dad, I Love You

You are Loved & Missed by all your Family...
Sending you my Love & Big Hugs... Happy Father’s Day Dad....
