Sorry about your loss. It is a very difficult process. I lost mom in June 2017 and my father in law in September so I understand your pain. Take one day at a time. Love your blog and getting to know you. emoticon

    1. Do you like blue cheese? I do enjoy the taste; however, I seldom indulge in it. My two favorite cheeses are Pepper Jack & extra sharp Cheddar.

    2. Have you ever smoked cigarettes? NO & never will make such a sad choice. emoticon

    3. Do you own a gun? No; although I did hold one once = not a pleasant sensation.

    4. What sweet drink do you like? I do not enjoy any type of sweet drink, although I have been known to indulge in a hot chocolate on the rare occasion. The result being that it always let me down & I would find myself asking why I allowed myself to cave to a drink that past experience has shown will not satisfy.

    5. Do you hold any diploma(s), degree(s) or certification(s)? Yes, three degrees/diplomas! emoticon

    6. At a BBQ - what's your favorite food? A nice juicy hamburger.

    7. What is your favorite movie? Chicken Run

    8. What do you prefer to drink in the morning? Always a nice hot “cuppa” tea = year round.

    9. Can you do a push-up? “A” being the operative word = Yes!

    10. What's your favorite color? Green

    11. Do you have a hobby? Study of the Word of God = not really a hobby, as such; however, something I enjoy doing with gusto!

    12. Do you have A.D.D? According to our youngest (a grade school teacher with twelve years experience) I show signs of A.D.D.; however, it never has been diagnosed. And if I do, it is not something that has kept or keeps me from achieving in life, so it must be mild or I learned to accommodate it, as I have the dyslexia I deal with.

    13. Do you wear glasses? No

    14. Who were your teen crushes? Goodness that is going back in time! Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits. What a cutie!

    15. Name three goals you have for this year? (1) Not allow myself to gain more than five pounds without putting that in check. (2) Begin the two-year Precept-Upon-Precept study of the Book of Revelation = that starts in January. (3) Go through the downstairs storage room & donate items that we will never use again.

    16. Name three drinks you drink regularly. Water, tea, & the occasional coffee!

    17. Current worries? Our eldest allowing herself to be over stretched with obligation = concern for her health & wellbeing. The state of several family members spiritual lives = lack of salvation.

    18. Name three things (not people) you enjoy/love. Not necessarily in this order: (1) Bible study = both the research during the preceding week & getting together with my Bible study Sisters to discuss each weekly lesson. (2) Touching lives with family & friends (who do not live in our area) through telephone visits &/or e-mail and face-timing with our Grandblessings. (3) Cozy days & evenings at home with my beloved MrV & our sweet Little Gal (Shih Tzu).

    19. Favorite place to be? First & foremost in our home!

    20. How did you bring in the New Year? With our cherished youngest & her hubby, in their home two states from our home. In all our years together we have been out to one New Year’s party. We found that we much prefer to be safely in our own home or that of family members.

    21. Where would you like to go? I would like to revisit New England, New York State, Pennsylvania, Texas, North & South Carolina, England, Scotland, & Wales. Then Ireland, Southern France, Italy & the Holy Land for a first time.

    22. Name two worst diets you've been on. Grapefruit & coffee = right after giving birth to our second Blessing & I dropped the weight rapidly, but it really was a stupid way to do so! And one I have used a lot over the years = what a gal here in “Sparkville” calls the “Hope Diet” = eat whatever & hope for the best.

    23. Do you own slippers? Yes, several pairs & I do wear them = mostly my ballerina type ones in the summer & then any number of warm & cozy ones in the cold months of the year.

    24. Name three favorite books. (1) Holy Bible = truly my favorite in this season of my life; (2) Miss Read series by Dora Saint (fiction): (3) Writings of Corrie ten Boom (wonderful accounts of a life lived well in the service of our Creator).

    25. Do you like sleeping in satin sheets or flannel sheets? Neither = I prefer cotton sheets.

    26. What are 3 of your "go to" meals? Homemade soups (year round); scrambled eggs with chopped green onions mixed in & turkey sausage on the side; for company beef stroganoff over brown rice.

    27. Where are you now? Upstairs back room with Little Gal lying beside me.

    28. If you could do anything for an occupation, no holds barred, what would it be? I was blessed with my dream = teaching. If I was to return to the workforce, I would want my work-a-day to be spent in the classroom.

    29. What is your favorite outfit? Favorites are Sunday-go-to-meeting outfits; however, most comfortable are nightclothes.

    30. What's on your playlist right now? I have no playlist.

    31. Favorite foods? Fresh baked bread & cornbread (hot straight from the oven) with cheese, and homemade split-pea soup, with homemade tomato soup a close second. When I was a kid, I enjoyed spaghetti & thought that when I grew up, I would have spaghetti every day. I still enjoy the occasional spaghetti meal.

    32. What's on your mind lately? (1)The great joy of having our family tree added to in the form of two more Grandblessings = court date to finalize the adoption was last Friday! (2) My girlhood friend who is dealing with multiple health issues including loss of her eyesight; however, more important is my concern for her state of salvation that is hanging in the balance. (3) What I see as our eldest being overworked & drained of energy with the demands of her extremely demanding job outside the home & her career of raising her precious family with her equally as busy with family demands & work husband.

    33. Last time you belly laughed? Just recently when I saw a meme on a blog that read, “I’ve reached an age where my brain went from ‘You probably shouldn’t say that!’ to ‘What the hell, let’s see what happens!’” I have always been a tongue biter, so maybe that is why I got so tickled!

    34. What's your favorite animal? I like a lot of kinds of animals; however, when pressed to choose just one, it would have to be the dog!

    35. What's your worst injury? Broken or sprained little toe = three times, same toe, over my lifetime. Other than that there are no injuries although lately I discover the occasional bruise as proof of my having bumped into something!

    36. How many TVs in your house? Six = one in the family room (largest room in our home & a room we generally use only when we have company), two in two of the guest bedrooms, & one in the snug; plus two in the storage room down in the basement. The weird thing is that we do not watch television = we use them for watching movies & old television shows on DVD.

    37. Silliest (truly silly, non-life threatening) action you've done to lose weight. The above mentioned two weeks of grapefruit & coffee as my total intake of questionable nourishment.

    38. Do you like to dance? One of my true enjoyments in my late teens was the Friday & Saturday night dances on the military base where my treasured & sorely missed Dad was stationed. Now-a-days it is a spontaneous slow dance around the kitchen in the arms of my beloved MrV that gives me the greatest of pleasures.

    39. Share about an awesome trip you've taken or place you've visited. One that comes immediately to mind was a business trip to North Carolina with my beloved MrV. He had to make meetings during a few of the days, but the rest of the time was ours to enjoy the area’s wonderful history & fine dining. All was paid for by the company (a bonus to MrV), so our only out-of-pocket were the keepsakes we chose as mementos of the trip. Another trip found us taking Amtrak to Virginia for a family wedding & then on up to New York State to visit with an elderly aunt &, then, back over to Chicago before heading home with all the wonderful memories made during those days. Being right in the heart of Chicago was such a delightful adventure for us.

    40. Do you enjoy camping? Definitely not! I camped once as a Junior Girl Scout leader & found the whole experience to be not to my liking. Although I did find great pleasure in our daughter’s enjoyment of the experience, so all the unwelcomed parts of camping tended to recede into the background.

    And there it is, Folks!
