Why after we've been sick do we tend to overdue after?????

Saturday, August 05, 2017

Yesterday I felt really good but after my long drive I was tired. So today I planned on staying home and just sort of resting and relaxing. But even tho I lazed around all morning I sort of went off on a bit of a binge this afternoon. Not a food binge but a cleaning one. The kitchen got a good once over, then the frig got it and I started on the floor but once I picked up all the rugs (because the dog slips on the hardwood floor) it started to rain. So they did not get out to get a good shake but just got put back down until tomorrow.

Then I finished another row and now have 6 finished and 7 has a good start. Then while I cooked dinner I trimmed the finished ones and danced around the dining room. That was when the trouble started. My back and asthma did not like the whole dancing idea. Now I'm stiff and needed to do a breathing treatment. Dang I was on such a roll.

Now I have about 5 meals in the frig for the week. This is one my kids love and called green bean casserole. It's so simple. A pound of burger, 1 can tomato soup, and a can of green beans. Today I used fresh because that is what I had. Then you top that with mashed potatoes (always made these after a big dinner) and cheese slices. Bake for about half hour and 4 to 6 nice servings of dinner with a veggie. So easy and reheats great in the microwave. I'm staying home again tomorrow so that I can cook up another meal with leftovers so I don't have to think about food again all week. My great aunt used to do this back in the 50's but I hardly ever do it. Just felt right with the fall weather we're having.

After not being ABLE to do things for awhile it seems like we have so much energy when we feel better - I think most of us DO overdo. Then our bodies remind us that we JUST got better, and let's not go crazy!

Cooking and dancing and sewing...my oh my, life can't get much better than that. I always loved that saying, "dance like nobody's watching". My back and knees always tell me when I've had enough fun.

Now down to business. Do you have any idea who your competition is in the great American shop hop race? Sparkies don't care who they are. We are 100% rooting for team CALAMITIE. You're on a roll.

Dinner sounds so good. I used to make something like that called Cottage Pie.

Back to the rows! Onward, upward sew, sew, sew! emoticon

Cooking and having leftovers when it is cooler out sure makes it nice for some more meals in the week. Once the temps cool down toward fall, I enjoy make casseroles and having leftovers or putting some in the freezer for a way down the road.
Sounds like your coming along nicely with the quilt rows, good for you.
