A nice warm day with a nice long drive to more quilt stores.....

Tuesday, August 08, 2017

It's a perfectly wonderful way to spend a day. Too bad the shop hop ends on Sun. I'll have to find some other reason to take drives because they make me happy. I got 7 more rows today and talked to some lovely people. One lady and her daughter had driven from MN thru Iowa, and Missouri picking up row by rows. There are so many wonderful stories.

As far as food went today I was a total failure. I binged on junk food and didn't even try to get it right. I haven't had a day like that in a long long time. There is however one bright star I only drank water all day no soda at all.

Tomorrow I'm staying home to work on the row quilt. However I did buy some really cute little boy fabric. I'm meeting my niece with her 2 little ones on Sun. to give her the things she wanted from mom's house so I thought I make her 7 & 4 year old some pillow cases. I doubt if I'll ever get to see them now that gramma and papa are gone but at least they might remember me.

Before I met you on Spark, I never knew quilters had such a wonderful community. It has to be fun driving from shop to shop, across state lines even, picking up rows. You are passionate about it and that is admirable. I used to knit until I developed neuropathy in my right hand. I couldn't get the tension on the yarn.

I ate a lot of junk yesterday also. I'll do better today. I made some tuna salad this morning. I'll have it for a few days if I buckle down on portions.

Glad your day was fun. Hope the cough is better.

I drive two hours to some of my doctor's appointments, and I enjoy the drive too. I find it to be relaxing unless it's storming or snowy and icy. I think you could take a drive to some of those quilts stores again, just because. Why not?

I love the pillow cases for the little ones. Their mom will remind them to remember you!

Good job with the water! Giving up soda is really hard for some people. I have trouble not drinking half when it's in the house. My husband loves coke with certain things, like pizza or burgers. If it's not in the house I can do without just fine. I can drink iced tea or sparkling water, or plain water. I like all of them.

Have a great day tomorrow! emoticon
