New Home Purchase Trials and Tribulations...

Wednesday, August 16, 2017

I think this is going to be more of a vent than anything so I apologize in advance. We found our forever house (1 payment to go and our current is paid....go figure) and are in the painful process of paperwork, lender/inspector/appraiser and so forth. All was set, we got through the inspection requests and reached an agreement, we have closing date AND time...now the appraiser deemed it a 2 unit and can't find a comp in the past 2 years sooo we got another appraiser and hope they see it as an in law suite. Lots of differences all around from appraised value to type of loan and differences of 5-15% downpayment. Ya, umm it's a lot!

I have the current house 78% packed, 3 people's vacations planned around current closing date, truck is booked and movers (my son is moving us with 2 buddies from work, and they are professional movers!) are also set based off current closing date.

Lender is working hard to get it done by that date but it is a "unique property" and we have fingers crossed all goes as planned. Did I mention I am an analytical planner for work??? I can plan routes for 600+ technicians daily for a year out but my life is hinging on a day or so difference potentially and it is KILLING me to not know how to plan!!!

No spoiler pics of house yet, must close and have the keys in our anxious hands and then I will post.

Rant over.....have a great evening Spark buddies!
