I have tried just about every diet under the sun. Most of the time I lose a few pounds the first week followed by ounces the next week...that's all! I then get stuck. Even if I increase my exercise, I tend to get stuck after losing seven to ten pounds. By the way, this is with a 1200 calorie diet and exercise.
What always happens is that I get discouraged and proceed to add a few snacks here and there. Of course, this causes me to gain, and the cycle goes on and on. It has been this way for as long as I can remember.
For the last few years I have contemplated trying to limit my carbs (more than I already do on a regular basis). Usually I don't eat bread, rice, etc. So, going low carb would mean cutting back on fruits and some veggies. I love fruit, so I was not very successful.
Lately, there's been a lot of talk about Keto and I kept reading one success story after another. Of course, I gave it a shot. I cannot tell you how many carbs I ate per day, but I did not have anything white (other than my creamer) and I cut out all fruits. I did not increase the fat, because it just did not sound healthy. The end result is that I was able to lose 20 lbs since June. As of August, I started eating fruit again, and I have been able to keep the weight down.
