My life as a cheerleader

The hub and I have been counting down the days to today - our kid's first proper soccer game since she tore her acl and spent over a year rehabbing after surgery. She's played 2 preseason scrimmages, then sprained a quad and had to skip the last 2 scrimmages, but she is back to full strength now. We're going to be in the stands being obnoxious parents during this first official game of our kid's last high school varsity season.
And then we will go home and eat a late dinner in front of the tv, because our kid's classmate is competing on a national reality show to select a new teenage boy band. He's one of 8 finalists (from a start of 30) and the final 5 band members will be announced tonight. It's been an entertaining summer, this watching our kid's friend on tv every Thursday evening. The ratings are so low that I think only family and friends are watching, but we'll be cheering tonight before we move on to homework, chores, and thinking about the kid's next soccer game.
