Three Months Done - Two to Go

When I restarted Spark back in June I set a goal to lose 30 pounds by October 31. That would be ten percent of my starting weight - 260 - rounded up to 30 because I like round numbers.

I knew that while the pool was open I would do just fine - and I did. I racked up a 20 pound loss in less than three months. I worried that once the pool closed though, I wouldn't feel as motivated to get out and walk, which is my other main form of cardio.

I did manage to lose another pound this week, but I only took one 4 mile walk last week. I walked this morning, but I really had to talk myself into it. It was fine. In November, when I have a free schedule, I'll be able to walk an hour almost every day, and I'm looking forward to that. But these two months leading to November are going to be full of work, chores, and special events. It's a jammed packed two months.

I think as long as I don't go on some horrendous eating binge I should be ok. In the past, I've usually gone through our year-end closeout at work with one or two bags of M&Ms to get me through. This year I'll still need some chocolate (!) but I'll try and find a few other healthy snacks to tide me over as well. One big help is that two of my co-workers are also trying to lose weight, and rather than it be a huge competition, it's been very supportive to have them along for the ride. We know better than to tempt each other, and give each other encouragement instead.

Looking forward to cooler days, more time to cook healthy and yummy foods, and walking without sweating!
