reason to rejoice

As you know, I booked a cruise for myself and two friends. The idea was that such an active vacation would motivate me to exercise. Not so much....I've been walking more and do plan to exercise, but between my two jobs and church, time is extremely limited. I'm confident though that I will get there. The cruise isn't until Feb 2019.
However, to keep me motivated, I've been looking at clothes for the cruise. There are two formal nights. The two girl friends I'm going with both want to bring a long dress and a cocktail dress. I have a long dress I want to bring. It can be dressed up to become formal. It's a beautiful dress I bought years ago. It was a size 14, but I had lost weight and my mother took it in for me. (She was a great seamstress.) So, I don't know what size it is, but I suspect somewhere around a 10. Which is my goal size.
I didn't have a formal cocktail dress that was fitting for a springtime cruise. Everything I have is more of a winter item. So, i started looking online.
For you ladies out there, check out the designer Jessica Howard. I LOVE her stuff. Very feminine without being too frilly. I saw what I considered the perfect dress for me online at Macy's. The sizing chart said that I should buy a size 12. I couldn't believe that. 4 months ago I was in an 18/20. So, I went to the store and tried the 12 on--IT FIT!!!! I couldn't believe it. It even looked good on me. I went home and ordered it online because online it was 50% off the price.
This morning I got on the scale, after eating a big dinner and was wonderfully surprised to come in at 159. The first time in...I don't know how long it's been since I've been in the 150's. in 2000 I worked for a company in Fremont CA and that's the last time i remember fitting in a size 11, so it must be close to 20 years since I've hit this goal.
Thank You Jesus!
ps: I tried on the long dress. I needed help zipping up and it was too tight, but I was able to get it on!
