Day 28,29 and 30th. - Busy week, Stopping to Listen to inner voices

Have had a very busy week with entertaining and visiting with an old friend plus hosting a book discussion at my home today so my daily blogs did not happen. Sometimes I feel like I am juggling too many things so I have to "drop a few balls" every now and then and "That is ok"
Just pick up and move on when I can. I did not plan my entire day of meals but I tried to make good choices in the foods that I served. My friend has several food allergies but what she can't eat is very healthy so that made things easier in a way.

On Friday morning my friend and I took a 2 mile walk on a near by rail trail and returned for lunch before she departed for home. Saturday I spent cleaning house and grocery shopping and then over to friends to play dominoes . I requested that we have a " no food" game night which she did except for serving delicious strawberries and popcorn ( 100 calorie bags- 2 split between 5 people). Was so nice do her to accommodate my wishes!

Today I made an apple crisp and used a recipe from Spark People recipes that had less sugar and butter than the recipe I usually use. While cleaning up after people were gone the little voice in my head was telling me to try some more icecream and crisp . I was proud of myself that I did not give into the temptation!! I took a couple of deep breaths and realized that I was actually "full" and then listened to the second little voice that told me to get outside and do some work in the garden. emoticon Celebrating a little victory!

Dealing with Cravings is really hard at times. I am trying no it to deny myself of foods I really like and want at times , just be better at eating them in moderation. Today was a good reminder to me that I can tune into my body and what it is telling me.
