Would you bet money on your weight loss?

"You can be paid to lose weight". Really? I don't think so. I look again at the title of the article, and think that it will be about the lower costs of medications, not spending money on larger clothes, etc. No. You can actually go to a web site and bet on yourself. You can choose your wager, and the number of months it will take you to lose x amount of weight. I am by nature skeptical. Do people really do this? This did lead to me to the philosophical question of how much I trust myself to be able to lose weight. Would I bet money on myself to succeed? The theory of weight loss is simple. Burn more calories than you take in, and you will lose weight. I wouldn't be here, however, it the reality of weight loss were really that simple. I know that stress, work, family issues, and health issues all are large contributors to my weight gain or loss. Certain people can send me to the pantry no matter how great my effort to avoid them. I am by nature a competitive person. I hate to lose money. What an interesting thought. How high of a bet would I need to place to make sure I didn't lose the money? What would happen to me mentally if I failed? Obviously, they are betting against my success, or they wouldn't have the site. I'm not sure if I would or should. How about you? Would you bet money on yourself to lose the weight?
