32nd "ENGAGEMENT" Anniversary!

Hey Spark Buddies! Do you still celebrate some silly meaningful anniversaries?!

I wanted to share my excitement! Hubby and I are Celebrating our 32nd ENGAGEMENT Anniversary! We went to dinner and I only ate half my meal! Enjoying the 2nd half as I type! emoticon



Hubby and I met while working at the IRS in 1984. We both had Columbus Day off. So in October 1985, we got engaged! This day being a national holiday, every year we celebrate the engagement by going back to the same restaurant where the special moment occurred. One year, he actually reenacted that moment. emoticon



Now, we take those closest to our marriage ministry, our vision partners back with us each year.





This year, we even renewed our vows to one another! It was fun! We are blessed to have each other! And we are blessed that the restaurant is still open and the food is great!

    We also celebrate our engagement anniversary, but unfortunately the restaurant we went to before we were engaged is in Arkansas and so I don't even know if it is still opened. The place we went was a spiritual retreat center at the time, and that's where he proposed to me. It is now closed to the public, privately owned as a drug/alcohol rehab retreat. Soooo these days we are more likely to celebrate our first date anniversary - yet even there, the original Pizza Hut we ate at has changed hands, been torn down, a new restaurant put in, etc etc, and so now we're like, just find a place that is open!!

    Good to see you back! How are your studies going for doctorate??

    WOW it hard to find and it's good to know that love is still in the air. I know God is love but when He touch you two He touch a blessing from within and y'all made it happen.
