Great week

Wednesday, November 22, 2017

My company's fitness Center is running a Maintain Don't Gain challenge. It started last week and I go in to get weighed and measured. Lost 1/2 pound this week and got a raffle ticket. I also started strength training as my goal. Sparkpeople has some bench exercises that I can do on my daily walk MWF. I did them on Monday and Oh boy my inner thighs are killing me. Do you wait to do them again until you stop hurting?

Anyway, My son, Jeff and his wife Kelly are taking me to the Thor movie tonight for my birthday on Friday. Thor is my favorite Superhero. Tomorrow I will have the family over for Thanksgiving. It will be 11 of us. I have my recipes and I'll start them today. Appetizers, soup, stuffing and green veggie are my responsibilities. My Son, Greg, will do the Turkey, Gravy and mashed potatoes. Kelly will bring her tofurky and braised greens. Great healthy dinner. My Brother in law and nephew will bring pie and beverages. It is a great week!

    Sounds like a fun Thanksgiving!

I've found that if I do an exercise that leaves me so the next day (and yes, often it's my thighs), then sometimes it helps to do a few more of whatever that exercise was. Something about working the same exact muscles again seems to get rid of whatever makes them sore - working out the lactic acid build up, or stretching the muscles, or whatever it is. I was surprised, but it works.

It is so nice everyone contributes to the dinner - I imagine it feels a lot better for all, but especially for you, the host.

I would rest those inner thighs for a few days, and do something else with them: walk, swim, bike, yoga...

    Happy Birthday!

I usually do modified exercises when I'm hurting--just to keep the time going and to remind me of what I'm here for.
Your Thanksgiving sounds well organized and yummy. I hope you have a great time at the movie--Happy Birthday!--and I hope all enjoy your Thanksgiving gathering.

Your Thanksgiving sounds awesome! I wouldn't wait to stop hurting before you exercise again. Usually just a day or two to rest. I have been working out at the gym and I'm finding that a lot of times doing exercise actually helps that ache heal. A nice hot bath always helps me too! Good luck with your new challenge!

Sounds like you are in for a great time. BTW my son & daughter in law have a home gym and work out 6 days a week. Unfortunately sore muscles are part of life whenever you exercise. Enjoy the show & your Thanksgiving. 😊
