Time management is a problem...

Wednesday, November 22, 2017

I got everything done but if I would have started when my SIL's ask for things I would have been done months ago. But NO I always thought I had plenty of time. Here is the little crochet Nativity. Don't look at the mess on the TV tray they are sitting on because all my stuff to sew the eyes on the snowmen had just gotten knocked off along with the little nativity. One of the cats decided it looks like a good place to walk. I had to pick up tiny black buttons...I hate the floor.

So my biggest problem today is that my meringue pie shell didn't dry very good. Dang. But oh well it is not something I can remake at this point. So it goes the way it is. Every once in a while I have baking failures. I'm sure it happens to other people too.

I ate OK today but I did have too much bread. At least my calories were where they belonged. I'm going to go make the lemon custard for the pie filling and the whipped cream so I can put the pie together in the middle of the night. Then I think I'll go to bed and try to sleep. I'm pretty sure the dog will wake me at least twice to go out again tonight. He's done it all week.

Then it's off to my brothers by about 9:30 in the morning and hopefully home by 4 or so. Maybe I can even get a bit of the mess cleaned up in my sewing room. Fri. my plan is to really clean my bathroom I noticed today it's getting pretty cruddy in the corners. Time to scrub it up good.

The Nativity came out cute. Very nice job. I hate the floor too! I'm in a super klutzy mode lately, knocking off everything in sight. Which means picking it up off the floor. Thank goodness for that grabber thing I got at Wal-Mart!

The nativity turned out beautifully! And I wouldn't worry too much about the pie - baking is an art, not a science. Even when items don't "look" the way we expected them to, they often taste just fine - and that's what counts!

Love the crochet nativity scene. You are really a talented lady. Don't worry about things the cat tipped over, etc. I know you want things neat and orderly; but, it can be straightened later. emoticon

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and relax at your brother's home. Just have fun and enjoy being with family.

A very nice job on the nativity set. Yes I think many of us have a failed cooking experience from time to time. I always fear when I make a dish or desert to take somewhere, I worry about it not turning out right. I am sure the pie will be fine.
Happy Thanksgiving, have a nice visit with your brothers tomorrow.

Love that Nativity ! I wonder if there is a knit version ? I don't know much about crochet. Is it easy enough for a beginner ?
