Calorie Adjustment

I've been using intuitive eating for some time which means for me that I might skip lunch because I'm not hungry or just grab a Kirkland nut bar at 3:00 and then go home to dinner. Because of this when I run my "Daily Nutrition Feedback Report" Sparkpeople admonishes me for going below my calorie threshold and sometimes I end up below some of the thresholds for Calcium or protein or something. So yesterday I used "Spark Premium" perks to email a coach. They agreed that my calorie threshold seemed a little high so today I adjusted it by 100 calories on either end. I may adjust it some more if necessary.

    Good idea. Remind me, how do we adjust our calorie threshold? I remember mine being done "for me" by the system.

    It's the average intake over many days that counts. I'll bet your intake evens out over weeks and months. Spark's graphs are really helpful in seeing that.

    Yup, we're each different, and what our bodies need changes from day to day. Depends on age, activity, even time of month.

    Definitely listen to what your body says.

    (And before my knee got bad, the fitness tracker was constantly yelling at me for walking too much and not getting enough nutrition for the walking I was doing. I told it to leave me alone.)

    A lot of this is trial and error to balance what is recommended and what actually works for us.

    I have had to do the same with Fiber because my body can't handle the amount that is recommended. I like that we are able to make some adjustments to suit our own nutritional needs!
