My traditional Holiday Gift is homemade Christmas Cookies. They go to neighbors, business folk, friends, etc. I enjoy baking, and those who receive them are always appreciative. This year I feel a little hypocritical, since eating several of these isn't exactly "healthy eating". It's not stopping me, though.
I walked for almost two hours today(3.8 miles). The moon was beautiful coming up and made the perfect end to a peaceful walk. My Christmas Tree is shining at me from across the room, and I am feeling pretty great.
It's been a good year. I've lost 14 pounds this year, with the help of all of you encouraging me. That's about 9% of my Jan. 1 weight. I am well on my way in this journey to get healthy and stay healthy. I'm glad I found Spark People and have met all of you.
Hey, I'm eating Kale and Lentil Soup tonight, that I made myself with Beef Bone Broth. A year ago I'd never eaten Kale and would not have considered it. You know something? It makes a great soup! I've walked 3 5K's this year, and plan to do a 10K next year. I have people tell me they could never do things that seem part of my routine now.
I'm not perfect at this stuff. I'm not 100% consistent. I go on emotional eating jags. I skip exercising some days when I know I should just get up and do it. In spite of that I've lost 9% of my weight this year and I feel so much better than I did a year ago!
With God's help and yours, I'll lose 10% next year, and next December I'll be able to say the same thing!
May we all have a healthy and productive 2018!
