Good morning fellow Sparkers!

Happy Hump Day. At least I hope it is!

Last night I finally cooked a meal that all the kids liked! Gosh, I felt like I won an award! LOL
I bought an inexpensive waffle iron. I made waffles ( from a mix), strawberries, whipping cream and bacon. It doesn't sound that healthy, but it fit within my calorie guidelines, and the kids cleaned their plates, which is healthier than not cleaning their plates. Now I can adapt the recipe to use whole wheat grains.

I looked up waffle recipes and there are some fun things like cheese sandwiches etc that we may try. Chase took over the "waffler" and helped cook dinner, so that was a blessing too.

Yesterday was my Zen day. I started out with aquatic physical therapy. Then soaked my old cold bones in the whirlpool. After that I took myself to a healthy egg white omelet lunch and enjoyed the day. I logged my food for the first time in about 3 months.

Three pounds sneaked back on, and I am not going to let it become more! Yes life is hectic with 5 kids, and getting settled into a new norm is a little more difficult but it is doable. I still have lots of time in the day to do what is important to me and what is necessary to life.

I read a blog today that made me sad. The blogger said she had gained weight and wouldn't be blogging for awhile, until she had something good to report. I was sad, because for me this is the community I turn to when I am having a tough time and need a little encouragement.
I am saying a prayer for her, and every other person who is struggling. I guess that would be all of us in one struggle or another, right?

Sparkspeople is my strength, with this community and the amazing resources, team challenges, and information, I am a winner!

That quote about struggles and strength is so on the mark. I need to hang that on my fridge.

Awesome supper idea and it worked well for togetherness! I love it! I think I read the same blog you did and it broke my heart. Not only is SP a place for support, but also when someone you've looked to for advice has a lapse, you realize that no one is perfect and there is no magic number that ends your journey. It is an ongoing lifestyle that we all need to accept. Hopefully **she** will be back blogging and sharing her journey again very soon. She needs us and we need her! Good luck to you and your daughter and the kids through the holiday season - may you have many more successes!!

I have a Spark friend who just returned yesterday after an 18-month absence. She is full of shame and down on herself. I hope I can inspire her to try again and not lose hope. Thanks for the inspiration! XOXOX

congrats on taking care of the grands and making them a healthy supper they all could eat, not an easy task at all and you handled it well people forget that kids need a little salt sugar and fat in there diet , they shouldnt be on a diet at all, so breakfast for supper was perfect.I gain a little more in winter and dont panic because in spring it will be gone.

I am pretty sure we read the same blog and left the counsel, too, that we are here to support! No matter what the journey is like, we are here to support!

And your waffle dinner is something I did for my kids, too, to surprise them. Let 'em know MOm still had some surprises up her sleeve.

Praying for that blogger too, Sunny! It is so important to find balance in your life, to realize that there will be highs and lows and that just as other things in life fluctuate, the healthy journey will be up and down and around corners too. SparkPeople is probably MOST important to me during my weak moments.

I so admire your courage in taking on the challenges of the past few months and I know that these years with the children are giving so many happy memories to all of you as well as enriching your life.

Congrats on cooking a meal they all loved! I'm sure it is just the first!

I have been guilty of holding Spark responsible for me not losing weight. I looked at it like it was the magic that I needed and the pounds were just going to melt away because I belonged to this magical place, and I had to do nothing but be here. Well, I found out in short order that if I wanted success I was going to have to do the work. Well, I am still working on it, not much success but I no longer blame Sparks it all falls in my lap. Nothing in this world it free without putting in a little effort.

What a success - good food and good times with family.

I agree blogging regardless of numbers on the scale is what helps.
