Too much time spent playing

Saturday, December 09, 2017

Instead of really cracking down and getting some housework and sewing done I played on my computer most of the day. I did make enough little squares to finish off the other 2 Rudolf mats so I just need to sew those together tomorrow. But as for house work folding a basket of clothes was about it. No one but me is worried about this so I'm trying not to cause myself any stress about it. Old ways would have me beating myself up all night and then being so tired tomorrow I can't do much of anything.

Another good day at home getting silly little things done but not seeing much improvement. But I did manage to get my meals to look like they should and kept my calories where they belonged. I'm planning on more of the same tomorrow. As my mother would say "If the good Lord is willing".

There are some days we NEED to have some down time to just do what we want to do. Even though I enjoy having a clean house it can feel like one more obligation sometimes. On days like that it's better for my mental health to do what I really WANT to do and leave the housework for later. (I've found it's ALWAYS there waiting for me!)

I can lose myself on a computer and as much as I like the computer.. it seems like the rest of my life is on hold when I'm on it. And about those silly little things... now that DH is retired and has started sharing in the housework, I think he has a new found sense of appreciation for what I do. Good job on the nutrition.

Sometimes it's hard to get away from the computer! An hour often feels like 10 minutes! And then the clock points out the difference! Like anything else we have to use our discipline and better intentions to change our ways or just go ahead and play once in a while!
