We all make mistakes. I made a few yesterday. Yesterday was a day of not enough steps and some mindless eating.
Saturday night I went out for a girls night with some of my friends. We typically just drink wine and have dinner at someone's house and do crafts. While there is drinking involved, it's usually pretty tame. We didn't do anything too crazy but we did leave the suburbs, head to the city and let our hair down so to speak! We started at a bar called 16 Bit. It's a place that is packed full of old school arcade games! AND all the games were free! We had fun playing Mortal Kombat, Pacman, Duck Hunt, Donkey Kong, Mario Brothers - you name it! The bar had a great craft beer selection as well.
Then we went to dinner. Afterwards we stopped by and had a cocktail at Lachey's which is an upscale sports bar that is owned by Nick and Drew Lachey from the boy band 98 degrees. We finished out the night at a Drag Show!! For anyone who's never seen Drag Queens before it's tons of fun! (That is if it's your cup of tea) I haven't been to one since college so it was a welcomed change in our normal calm nights in the suburbs dishing about our husbands leaving underwear on the bathroom floor! (haha)
So Sunday I was tired. And lazy. I ate some good things, but some bad things. Things I should have avoided include cheese and crackers, truffles, and a bag of gold fish crackers. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't sleep in and then spend a majority of the day on the couch. I barely got 2,000 steps. Thanks to that, I didn't reach my goal of walking 49,000 steps in the week! (A lazy new years day didn't help either!) Week 1 and I didn't make it! BUT thinking about the steps has obviously made a difference. I had 10,281 more steps than last week! I think I can continue the upward trend and make my goal more often than I miss it, especially when it isn't cold and snowy/icy outside!
But alas today is a new day - and I'm back on track. I'll focus on moving forward instead of looking back. One day being lazy and not eating perfectly will not hold me back!
