Shame on me!
Not that anything huge is happening in my life.
I am the opposite of a competitive person (what would that be anyway?) but I am trying to change things up a bit so I joined the 5% Winter Callenge (I am a Shooting Star!) and have spent a lot of time learning the ropes over there.
I rejoined my gym a month or so ago and have enjoyed spending an hour or two there almost every day.
I am feeling stronger and have lost five pounds since Xmas.
We are traveling to a few places in South America in April and I want to be fit and able to walk the 6,7,8 miles a day we usually walk while exploring new places.
My son and his family are doing well, after one looong horrific year battling his stage IV colon cancer.
He lost his colon, half his liver, and had a spot on his lung removed (chemo, radiation and 3 surgeries).
We have all been through a lot and suuuure appreciated having a joyful Christmas this year.
So, life goes on.
I must admit I have little sympathy for folk’s minor gripes about small stuff anymore.
So what, you have to have a root canal?
You have been coughing for two weeks?
Your grocery bill keeps going up and up?
Keep it in perspecive.
These wee ones almost lost their daddy this year...
Oh, actually, there was one exciting event in our family...my son and my wonderful DIL took the kids all the way to California (we are in RI) right after Xmas to visit some new cousins and spent two amazing days at Disneyland!
Here is my dear son, looking great, so happy to be back to work full time.
