I have a clean desk and it lead to doing other organizing.

Sunday, January 14, 2018

I finished with my desk at about 1:30 PM this morning. I cleaned it with vinegar and organized things. We have pens and pencils all over the place and I even cleaned out my purse to get the pens there. I also straightened the things in the drawers of two end tables and the console in the love seat.

My husband was at our son's house and I took out all of the drawers then turned the desk on each side and crawled around to get at each drawer space and underneath it. My husband said he thought we've had the desk for more than 20 years. His aunt went blind and gave it to us after her husband died.

I am ready to go on to do the spreadsheets now.

Our son wants us to come to his house later today after church; that is why I am writing a blog now.

We had a 70 degree day on Friday and today the high is to be in the 20's. It is 13 degrees F. at 2:12 AM. A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect for the Blue Ridge Mountains in Northern Virginia and the Allegheny Highlands overnight tonight into Sunday. Wind chill factors will drop as low as 15 below. Frostbite could occur within 30 minutes. Bundle up before heading outside during the night or while going to church or to the grocery store in the morning. The advisory is in effect from 8 PM this evening until 10 AM on Sunday morning.

OH NO!

This is right down the street from us, Central Avenue intersects the street we live on:

HAGERSTOWN, Md. - On Saturday night, Hagerstown Police responded to the scene of a potential shooting near Central Ave.

Around 10 p.m., the Hagerstown Fire Department tweeted, "use caution in the area of Salem Ave and Central Ave. Units are operating in that area, treating multiple shooting patients."

As of 11 p.m. police still had several streets blocked off, and sections of Marshall Street and Central Ave surrounded with police tape.

We'll continue to keep you updated as we learn more.

Hubby woke up shivering and said the heating pad is not working. He doesn't have a fever.

I suppose I will read about what happened in the paper in the morning. We are four houses away from the first intersection on the street and it isn't that far to the second intersection. We walk on Marshall Street. I am glad that I wasn't aware of this while hubby was gone last night. Bayau doesn't bark. I felt protected when I had either of my rottweilers. Bayau is protective, bless her heart. I know that she would do her best to stop anyone that tried to hurt me, but gun shots...I can't stop a speeding bullet like Superman could.

What a busy, productive day! Wow! I almost got tired reading all you did. Good for you for taking care of business.

We had our 'date night' tonight which involved going into the den and watching a 30 minute recorded tv show. We're real homebodies.

Prayers for those involved in the violence. Scary.

Take care and I'm glad you have Bayau. I also previously had two Rottweiler sisters. They are forever loved and missed. I'm grateful to have our 113 pound Miss Jasmine who barks only when she's on 'high alert' with something happening right outside our door. We taught her 'hotel speak' which is a tiny 'woof' for the times when we do travel.

I hope your hubby is doing better. Ongoing healing prayers.

So scary. The riots that happened in STL weren't far from where we lived and even though we have been gone from there for almost 15 years it still sent a shiver down my back. What is the world coming to?? I feel it is mostly drugs that fuel all the violence and don't have an answer to this issue.

Another couple of busy days for you. Hope hubby is ok and not getting ill again.
