Finally... back at it.

It has been a long time. But on Saturday 02.17.2018, after almost 16 months, I went back to the gym for the first time.

I was diagnosed with a medical issue in April 2016. I was fine at first - still going to the gym, trying to improve my diet, etc. Then the issue became concerning during that summer. I had to stop attending the gym because the issue was getting in the way of even using gym equipment properly. I stopped without doctor's orders, but the doctor understood why.

I had surgery to resolve everything July 2017. When my doctor spoke with me after surgery, she informed that the problem was actually affecting my blood circulation also. Then it all made sense - when I was first diagnosed, I'd wondered if that was why I couldn't lose more weight, no matter how hard I tried. All the work I was doing to lose weight was for naught because of this very problem.

I'm still physically healing, and I have to take it very slow. I'm sticking to slow walking & stretching for a while. But I found out last week that I've lost 10 lbs. just based on diet alone (as well as stress, but that's another topic), so why end there.

It's good to be back. About to head to the gym right now.
