Medical overload n feeling Disconnected

Sunday, February 25, 2018

Feeling a little disconnected atm mostly do to multiple medical that seems to effect my bodies ability to louse weight in an effective manner. Been using SP to track since 2006 so over a decade now. Seen a lot of changes to the site and the ppl who use it also. I like seeing the progress ppl make but at the same time I feel like I'm standing still while the world moves on without me. When I started on SP I was 5'9" and 286 12 years later I am 5'4" and 275 I've hit 250 n held it stable for years and for the life of me I couldn't get under 250 n managed to get down to 25% body fat. But in 2015 I was thrown a medical curve ball and in 2016 was dianosed with Spinal Arthritis (neck n lumbar) with degeneration in the lumbar region and fusion in the neck. Told to go on disability by three different neurologists but to also stay active and eat healthy. End of 2016 was told I've chronic pain syndrome as a result of the spine issues and that I also have 18 point positive fibromyalgia. Was put on medication to try n control the discomfort but all the stuff did was skyrocket my weight from the stable 250 right up to 298 (freak out on my part). I semi fell off the tracking last year as I just ended up hitting the medical wall of all I could deal with mentally and emotionally so though I still tracked it was more for my insulin needs then anything else. I'm slowly getting my brain back in order around all the medical I've been hit with in two years time and it's been a nightmare that I'm still having to learn to deal with as they still haven't figured it all out. Suffice to say medically speaking I'm living with... *Acute intermittent Porphyria (AIP) *‎Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome ( #PCOS ) *‎Insulin Dependant #Diabetes (T1D) *‎Chronic Pain Syndrome (CPS) *‎ #Fibromyalgia *‎Degeneitive Disk disease (DDD) *‎ #Arthritis *‎ #Depression *‎ #Anxiety *‎and they are still trying to rule out Rheumatoid arthritis, Lupus, lime, MS and a few others. So yes right now I'm feeling very much alone despite a loving husband (who is a semi controlled epileptic n who has fibromyalgia also) and two helpful Service Dogs (his and mine) plus a couple spoonie friends (who have their own medical) I still feel alone in having to deal with all this.

Sometimes life isn't fair. That's a lot for one person. Meds have to make weightloss difficult. Praying that your doctors can get things worked out and can help. emoticon
