What’s important

Two years ago today I started wheezing. Four days later I went to the doctor after I got lightheaded and lost my breath reading a story to the two year old kids in my class.
My first bad asthma flare.
I hate to say not much has changed. That’s not exactly true. My medications have changed. My activity level has changed. The severity of my asthma has changed.
Before this I could go months without needing my inhaler. I could leave the house and not worry if I had one with me. Today I have it with me at all times and don’t remember the last time I went more than a day without tightness in my chest.
In two weeks I go back to the pulmonologist. I’m not expecting much, but I have realized it’s more important than ever that I focus on my nutrition and listen to my body.
