Thank you to everyone who commented on my last post. I really appreciate you taking the time to share your support.
I've been doing a lot of reflection about things and I'm focusing on the positive changes I can make in my life. I finally booked an acupuncture session and went last week. I felt really good about things. The focus is for overall stress relief but working towards reducing blood pressure, cholesterol and trying to make things optimal for fertility.
During our consultation, she asked about fruit and veggies and I mentioned my lunchtime salads which I have 3-4 out of 5 days. She said that for my situation, I should be eating cold foods. The thing is, that I hate eating cold food. I eat the salads because they're good for me but she said since I'm always cold, I should focus on soups, etc. So, I made some homemade ramen for the week. It's packed with veggies and there are some rice noodles in there.
She said basically to focus on staying warm. Easier said than done where I am. Anyway, now that I have to focus on staying warm, it's making me react more quickly when I'm cold. Usually I just deal with it until I can't take it anymore. The last few days I been proactive about it and it's made me much happier.
Other developments: I've been turning down the donuts even when my husband brings them home, I've slotted in my 30 minute lunch time walks again and I've made sure to have salmon twice a week to up that healthy cholesterol. I've also taken about 4 books out of the library to gain some more insight. I've also sorted out a financial issue that's been plaguing me for the last three years and was easily resolved within 30 minutes when I actually dealt with it.
The acupuncturist wants me to go every week for awhile. Fortunately, it's covered by my insurance. I return on Thursday night and on Friday I had already scheduled myself a massage (also covered) as part of my year of self-care. I am happy to report I am feeling much more optimistic than I had when I wrote my last entry.
I hope you're all doing well too.
