Wow. I got an email this morning that my spark page was chosen as motivator of the day. It's kind of funny to me. I'm not really active on the site anymore. I still log in every morning, spin the wheel (1238 day streak currently!), read the emails that come to my inbox and log a few things a couple times a week. But, since I'm not really in a community of people anymore, being a motivator is surprising.
So, I'm going to take a moment, update y'all on where I am. I've now run 5 marathons. I'm nearing the end of my "race season". I have two half marathons in a row, starting next weekend and then I'm done until Fall. (I don't race over the summer. The DMV area is just too hot and humid and I only race locally!) I've signed up for my biggest running challenge yet for Novemeber 2018. I'm running the Philly Marathon. And the Half. And the 8K. It's also the first time I'm traveling for a race.
Weight wise, I'm doing okay. I'm at goal. I'm maintaining in my 5 lb happy place and have been for a couple months. I made a decision this fall that I was DONE trying to lose the last 20lbs (after my daughters birth, 6 years ago...) So, instead of playing around, I just made the changes that I know work. Stop eating junk all the time, thinking that I'm exercising enough to make up for it. Eat more veggies. I mean, EAT MORE VEGGIES. I eat a lot of veggies. Because I like to eat a lot. I like meals that are huge! I like to see a full plate. So, I eat a lot of VEGGIES. I went back to monitoring my after dinner eating (take a portioned amount of snack to the basement while watching TV and that's it! That's what I get!). I eat pizza once a week to keep the junk food monsters at bay. One dessert a week to keep the sugar monster at bay.
I've also transitioned from full time SAHM to part time employee. I'm working two days a week as our little village Town Treasurer. It's a good gig. My boss works around my kids and their school schedule. It does mean two days a week, I'm up at 4:50 AM to get my workout in. And so two days a week, I'm sleeping hard and early! Which my hubby doesn't love (as a night owl!)
Well, that's about all I can think of at the moment! I'm off to hit the treadmill and get a few miles in before all the Saturday fun happens... birthday parties, cub scouts, grocery shopping, cleaning... Be Blessed!
