Wow! It's been a while.

It's been over a year since my last blog post...

Since then, I've really gotten back into belly dance. So much so that it's now my (very enjoyable) primary cardio exercise each week. I was invited to join a local troupe last year, so that's also become part of my monthly routine as I work on moving from an intermediate to advanced level in my dancing. It's so nice to have such a lovely group of women to dance with!

My weight is holding pretty steady, which is fantastic. I'm playing with the idea of making some small tweaks to drop my body fat % a bit lower -- mostly because the costumes I wear for my dancing make me a little self conscious sometimes and I have several shows coming up in the next few months. So I'm bumping back up from 2 days of strength training each week to 3, and making an extra effort to eat enough protein (a challenge, since I don't eat much meat and don't like most of the veggie-based alternatives). And of course plenty of fruits and veggies.

In general, life is good.

    Sounds like you have enjoyed your year. Congratulations on your success with the belly dancing.

    Getting enough protein can be a challenge for me too. I don't know if you are a fish eater or not; but, sardines help me and I also use a whey protein, on occasion. Otherwise, things like nuts, avocados and eggs are probably my primary protein sources.
