Welcome to rock bottom—and it’s a fat one!

I weigh more than I have ever weighed in my life by far, clocking in at 218.8 pounds. I’m 5’4” and my BMI is 37.6–OBESE. But I have a few tricks up my sleeve:
#1: I’m motivated.
Seeing my progress here on sparkpeople in years past has inspired me anew! I can scarcely believe the things I was able to accomplish, and the goals that I met! What happened to that me?!
#2: I’m disabled.
I’m going to start thinking of this as a strength rather than a limitation. At the very least, I have time to go to the gym while also keeping up with my physical therapy. Both my fitness and health related goals are two planks on the same train track, and I hope to improve them both simultaneously.
#3: I have a plan.
I wrote down the steps of how I will achieve my fitness goals. It starts with walking every day (already doing this), then adding gym days X number of times per week and slowly ramping up the number of times per week. After my fitness has improved significantly through my solo cardio program, I will hire a personal trainer to do weight training. I’m also looking at doing more home cooking.
#4: All the rewards!
- New record or CD
- New clothing item
- (big goal) Nose piercing
- (big goal) Sleeve tattoo
I am promising myself to save these rewards for only times when I’ve EARNED them, so the gift will be extra special and memorable.
#5: I have SparkPeople!
I remember what a great community this is and have seen how much it has helped me and others. I plan to participate in the community features, add some sparkbuddies for support, and just keep checking in!
