Day of rest?
Sunday, May 06, 2018
Sunday is typically a day of hard work and chores, at least around here. Yes, it's all after we go to church first. But the afternoon fills quickly. And I work at the park on Sunday nights, so I only have between church and 3:40, before I have to go.
Today, i filled those hours with some chores, mowing the lawn, walking and cooking dinner. One of my biggest challenges is eating from the same foods that the family eats... I tried tonight and my day total is 1032 calories. Not too bad. With exercise I can still lose when eating that many calories, right? But that's my next dilemma. My wife lowered the boom on me last week, saying how disgusted and embarrassed she is of me, and how she doesn't care anymore. So I know I need to lose "a significant amount of weight" (maybe 100 pounds?) or I can expect she'll leave me in 4 years, when both boys are out of the house.
So how to balance my working out with work, home and other stuff... I think I'll try to start getting up early in the mornings and go swim before work. I don't have to start until 9am, so I could go into the pool around 7, and still lift some weights, get in some walking, laps, and make it to work, right?
Anyway, I've lost about 10 pounds so far, so I want to double that QUICKLY, because I need to lose 30 pounds, which is 10%, and I know that is the first real important milestone. The only milestone I really can't wait for is "Gee, honey, you look good? You been losing weight?"
