Getting regular exercise

After foot surgery in January and 9 weeks of no walking or exercise recovery, I started up with water aerobics for people with limited mobility and the recumbent bike. Walking was painful and my foot had no flexibility so I could not walk very far. I also gained 5 pounds so I wanted to make sure that they would come off sooner rather than later.

After 3 months, I have graduated to the regular water aerobics, reduced the time on the bike and added in strength training machine circuit. The Y gives you several sessions with a trainer to help set up the machine circuit. My weight is back to the pre-surgery weight, and my swimsuit looks much better. Being on the challenge helps me to keep track of how often and how much I do. Because I have to log in regularly to post the results. It is so easy to not record the minutes and to get out of the habit of even doing exercise.
