Mosquitoes in the house.

Wednesday, June 13, 2018

I was bitten on my right eyelid, my right ear and right cheek. If anyone has a remedy for getting rid of mosquitoes inside, let me know. I can see them, but I can't track them when they are flying. I have flyswatters, but they fly off before I can hit them. I have been putting rubbing alcohol on the bites. Any anti-itch remedies would also be welcomed.

The repairman will be here today at 4 PM. He told me before that he had someone he knew in the hospital in an end of life situation. I called him and tried to cancel before rescheduling dinner with my sister yesterday, so I crossed things up myself. He had to order the part from Germany so I don't think he wants to be stuck with it.

***The repairman was here today. His father-in-law is in hospice and he said he was so tired. He rescheduled his last appointment and went home. $140 for a part and labor. I hope this works and that I have usage of my dishwasher again.

Ouch! I hate those bugs. I was worried they might be growing in my ponds so I made sure my water is moving with fountains. I sure hope your machine works this time!

I just wait... fly shatter in hand and wham! Or clap my two hands together. That’s even more effective!

Thank you all. I have been putting rubbing alcohol on cotton swabs and using that on the bites. Only the one on the eyelid had a bump.

We used the dishwasher last night and it worked fine. It is so nice to put dirty dishes in it and wait until it is full. I get more dishes done in it and use less water.

So sorry you've been bitten by irritating mosquitos. Hopefully the itching is easing now. I also hope the dishwasher will work now.

Walgreens has a tube of a cream called Itch-X. Yellow and white tube. Wonderful. Don't know if you can use it on your eyelid, though. The other suggestion is calamine or caladryl lotion. Again, not sure if you can use that on the eyelid.

    Good luck.

I like Rhuli jel for itching. I believe you can buy it at Wal-Mart. Johnson & Johnson bought them out but supposedly they decided to quit making it and it is available again. It is clear and doesn't stain and works very good.
