The Plateau Challenge
Thursday, June 14, 2018
I've been on my journey for 8 weeks now. When I started I weighed in at 172. My first month I only rode my stationary bike. I very quickly dropped down to 163. I was so excited and happy. The second month I started to implement strength training and suddenly the scale came to a complete halt at 165. I know muscle weighs more than fat but this complete standstill is driving me around the bend. I haven't quit but it's getting harder every day to keep up the motivation to go on.
Yesterday I joined a summer group to help me lose 5% of my weight. I'm looking forward to it. I posted to the wall about my excitement of joining this new challenge and wrote about my plateau problem. CAROLYNINJOY1 posted back to me and told me about the Plateau Challenge. Thank you, Carolyn, for that piece of information. Today is Day 1 of the Plateau Challenge and I'm feeling confident again that things will work itself out.
I'm fairly new to SparkPeople but that one kind bit of advice was all I needed to keep me going. I'll continue to blog about my adventures in health and fitness and I'll also share what I learn here on my personal blog.
So here's to new friends and new challenges.
